Influences on the film opening

I took many influences from many different types of film to create the idea for the opening.



Se7en

 For the overall thriller aspect it was mostly from from films like David Finchers Se7en and Christopher Nolans Momento. I liked the way that the audience was in the same position as the main character and was trying to figure out how it would end up at the same time as the main character, this helps to draw the audience into the film. Other influences I took from 'Se7en' were the sounds of rain in the background. This helps to add a sense of foreboding and atmosphere, it is also reflected in the cinematography which is very dark and contrasted.

Some of the visuals were taken from American Beauty because of the significance of colour in the film and also Let The Right One In. Both of these films had very strong and artistic cinematography.
