For the production I have decided to make a short film. At the time I have was reading 'Blindness' by Jose Saramago and as after reading the first chapter of the book I knew that i wanted to use this as the basis for the film. I decided not to read the rest of the book as I didn't want to get too attached to the story and sacrifice any creative ideas that may enhance the end product. The story that I have is that a man suddenly goes blind whilst waiting for the lights at a crossroads to change. When this happens a helpful man offers to drive him home, when he is at home he is on his own and breaks a vase, cutting his hand. We then find out that the man who helped him home actually stole car. This simple idea for a story allows me as a film maker to experiment with the camera and editing to put in other ideas. It also allows me to improvise things on set and add them into the story without worrying about whether it fits in with the rest of the film.
